BITPONT / HELP/PERPS

How to Trade Perpetuals on Bitpont

Fund a subaccount, place an order and verify reductions, protection and withdrawals.

Updated 27 October 2026

Check the account before depositing

Open Perps, connect the intended Solana wallet and check Subaccount. Bitpont reads the connected Velocity account. Existing equity and free collateral can permit an order without a new deposit; opening the terminal does not reset that account.

Equity includes account value and relevant unrealized effects. Free collateral is a margin measure after requirements. Account leverage describes current account exposure. None is the same as the wallet’s USDT balance, a guaranteed withdrawable balance or a recommendation for order size.

Add collateral when needed

  1. Open funding. Select Add / withdraw funds or Add / withdraw USDT. Check both wallet and protocol balances.
  2. Prepare the collateral asset. The funding dialog uses USDT. Its Start with choices link SOL, USDC or another token to a separate Swap flow first. Returning from a swap does not automatically deposit collateral.
  3. Review the deposit. Enter Amount · USDT and select Deposit USDT. If a new protocol account is needed, review its separate initialization and SOL rent costs.
  4. Confirm the account change. Approve the intended wallet steps, then refresh the selected subaccount and verify the collateral before placing an order.

Open a position

  1. Select the market. Choose the contract, check its availability and read its specifications. A perpetual position is contract exposure; it does not put the underlying token in your wallet.
  2. Choose the direction. Use Buy / Long for long exposure or Sell / Short for short exposure. These can also reduce an existing opposite position, depending on your current account and order settings.
  3. Choose the order. Select Market or Limit. For a limit, enter the USD price. Review Post only intentionally; it changes how the order may interact with existing liquidity.
  4. Set quantity and review exposure. Enter Position size in the displayed base-unit convention. The sizing leverage control helps calculate quantity; it does not create a separate isolated-margin account. Check notional, available collateral and the rest of your subaccount.
  5. Review and sign. For a market order, review the price tolerance from the oracle. Submit the ticket, read the review and choose Continue to wallet only when the details match.
  6. Check fills and remaining orders. After confirmation, inspect Positions and Open orders. An accepted order can remain unfilled or partially filled. A transaction confirmation alone does not establish the final position size.

Reduce or close a position

In Positions, choose Reduce / close. Bitpont fills the opposite side and enables Reduce only. Check the quantity for a partial or full reduction, then review and sign. Refresh the position afterwards. A smaller remaining size means a partial close; a missing fresh account read does not prove the position is closed. Check outstanding protective orders separately.

Add a stop loss or take profit

Use SL / TP on the position, choose the order type, enter the trigger price and review the reduce-only quantity. A trigger is not a guaranteed execution price and does not guarantee protection against liquidation. Separate stop-loss and take-profit orders are not an OCO bracket in this interface: filling one does not automatically cancel the other.

Edit, cancel, settle and withdraw

  • Edit price: available for eligible fixed-price limit orders. Review the replacement and check the resulting order.
  • Cancel: cancels a selected order through a transaction. It can fill before cancellation confirms.
  • Cancel all perps: includes protective orders in the selected subaccount.
  • Settle PnL: requests supported settlement to the protocol quote balance. It does not close the position or automatically withdraw funds to the wallet.
  • Withdraw USDT: available through the funding dialog subject to current account and margin constraints. Verify the wallet receipt after confirmation.

Read PnL carefully

Open the position’s PnL breakdown to see price movement, unsettled funding and other adjustments. The total is not necessarily lifetime profit or withdrawable money. Funding, fees, settlement and other positions affect the account. See the worked sizing example before interpreting leverage.

Read the chart in context

Choose oracle prices or contract fills, then an interval from 1 minute to 1 day. Use the crosshair for OHLC values, drag to pan, scroll or pinch to zoom, and Expand for fullscreen. Reset restores the full displayed history. The recent-values table provides a text view. Entry prices and open-order levels appear only with a current connected-account read. These levels are not a liquidation estimate. On mobile, use Chart and Trade to switch workspaces.
