Solana Perps Orders: Limits, Stops & Take Profit

Choose an order by the condition you need to control: execution price, resting liquidity, or a trigger for reducing exposure.

Market orders with a price bound

The Bitpont market ticket constructs an order with a worst execution price relative to the current oracle. The tolerance limits acceptable pricing; it does not guarantee immediate execution. A transaction can confirm while an order remains unfilled. Check open orders and the position after submission.

Limit and post-only orders

A buy limit constrains the maximum price; a sell limit constrains the minimum. A limit can rest, partially fill or remain unfilled. Must-post-only rejects an order that would immediately take liquidity. Try-post-only and slide are distinct protocol behaviours; choose them intentionally rather than assuming they are equivalent.

Reduce-only and partial closes

Reduce-only prevents an order from increasing or reversing the existing position. Use Reduce / close from the position row to prefill the opposite side, then choose the quantity. Other outstanding reduce-only orders and intervening fills can change what remains available to close.

Stops and take profit

Protective orders use a trigger price and then execute as market orders. An oracle-triggered order can slip after activation. A stop is not a guaranteed liquidation shield. Separate stop and take-profit orders in this terminal are not an OCO bracket: execution of one does not automatically cancel the other.

Editing a limit price

Use Edit price on an eligible fixed-price limit order. The wallet signs a replacement transaction; quantity and direction are preserved by omitting those changes. Replacement can lose queue priority, and an intervening fill can make the update fail. Floating oracle-offset and trigger orders are excluded from this editor.

Cancellation and confirmation

Cancellation requires a signed onchain transaction; an order can fill before cancellation completes. Cancel all perps also cancels protective orders in the selected subaccount. If confirmation is unknown, inspect the transaction and account before submitting again.

Orders, funding and collateral depend on the current protocol state. Confirmation does not prove a fill. Check the selected wallet and subaccount.
