Is this a bank deposit?
No. Aave is an on-chain lending protocol. Smart-contract failures, bad debt, oracle issues, USDC depegging and protocol governance can cause losses. Deposit insurance is not provided.
Can I withdraw immediately?
Only if the reserve has liquidity and your account meets Aave’s rules. Frozen deposits can still permit withdrawals; paused reserves can block both. Existing borrowing may limit withdrawals.
Why a separate Ethereum page?
Ethereum has its own USDC contract, Aave pool, receipt token, gas costs and liquidity. Ethereum is the settlement network; you need ETH and Ethereum USDC. An address on Base may look identical but holds separate balances. Check this page’s exact contracts before sending funds.
